Forage Aid Receive Terrific Donation

Friday, February 8, 2019

The Trustees of Forage Aid would like to thank a Rutland farmer for his very generous donation to the Forage Aid charity. He made a very kind offer to donate straw in the swath during the 2018 drought. Unfortunately, the charity is unable to store bedding or forage due to lack of storage area. As we were unable to accept the offer as it stood our suggestion of bailing and selling the straw was actively taken up and we recently received an extremely generous donation of £1,000 as the proceeds from that sale. To a small charity such as Forage Aid, donations such as this are greatly appreciated and ensure that we can operate within our criteria in order to relieve animal suffering following a serve weather event.

Due to the lack of forage in the country donations have been hard to come by and any recent requests we have had have seen the charity having to purchase forage so these cash donations still go towards feeding animals in need.

We can safely say that, once again, the farming industry demonstrates that by working together we can achieve great things. Farmers helping farmers really is on show here.
